A truck (rented for a move) broke down on the highway in the middle of the night. Assistance promised a replacement truck with lifting arms to transfer the belongings from one truck to the other. BUT, early the next morning, we contacted City Drop... a completely different story: we had to go find a truck ourselves and transfer the belongings from one truck to the other. My daughter clearly stated that she was alone with the truck. In short, she's on her own... it's not their problem! We're going to have to pay movers €1400 to retrieve the furniture from the broken-down truck. City Drop is offering €200 in compensation. They have a sense of humor, but unfortunately, not the competence. If you need to rent a truck for a small move, ABSOLUTELY AVOID CITY DROP!

Avoid them at all costs! We had a huge ordeal this weekend. Our truck broke down on the highway; the hose burst. They offered no solution whatsoever. We had to pay for a hotel and a removal service to come and get our belongings from the truck, resulting in an additional cost of around €1500. We're going to file a claim with our insurance company since their "assistance" is nothing but a joke. This company left us to fend for ourselves without any financial or material help. It's a real disgrace, and apparently, this happens all the time with them. Stay away from them!

A terrible experience – appalling service and disastrous management. We rented a 17m³ truck for a long-distance move (Paris–Avignon). The vehicle broke down halfway. We couldn't reach City Drop's "assistance" service: no one answered. We were forced to call a tow truck ourselves. It was only thanks to the insurance number provided by the tow truck driver that we finally managed to reach someone at City Drop. From then on, there was no serious support whatsoever. No concrete solution was offered. The advertised assistance simply didn't exist: it was a facade. We had to insist heavily for a solution to supposedly be found… a solution that was ultimately never implemented. The result: – hotel at our own expense – forced to find another moving truck ourselves – clear instructions to "figure it out ourselves." Meanwhile, all our belongings were stuck in the immobilized truck at the tow truck depot, with no access. An absurd, stressful, and completely unacceptable situation for a long-distance move. No foresight, no support, no professionalism. A disgrace. Legal proceedings have been initiated.

I rented a 17m³ van for a move, scheduled for 10:30 am. Upon arrival in Annecy, I picked up the van and drove barely 5km before it broke down. I figured, "These things happen." I've rented about twenty vans in my life, and this is the first time it's ever happened to me, but it does happen, as you can see. City Drop was very responsive, though; they sent a tow truck and gave me a larger 20m³ van. So, instead of starting my move at 11:00 am and driving 300km to Montélimar, I had to wait until 6:00 pm to pick it up in Annecy, and I was finally able to start loading my furniture at 8:00 pm. I drove the whole way, and we finished at 4:00 am, and I had to drop the van off in Valence. I returned to my old address at 8:00 AM to finish some formalities and drop my companions off in Haute-Savoie. It was a crazy day and night, and I really had to stay motivated. Luckily, I had two wonderful and motivated people with me. The person I was originally supposed to meet bravely left me right after the breakdown, and these two agreed not to leave me stranded. So, I think this can unfortunately happen, but despite everything, I would rent from City Drop again because I like the concept and the value for money.

Vehicle pick-up is very simple and convenient, which allows for a certain degree of flexibility.

It's frustrating to pick up a vehicle with an empty windshield washer fluid reservoir and have to fill the AdBlue tank right away. That's an extra 35 euros on the bill; plus, I put in more diesel than I used!

A truly, truly, truly BAD experience. If I could, I'd give zero stars. I'm used to renting vehicles from agencies, and for the first (and last) time, I decided to trust City Drop. I rented a 12 cubic meter vehicle for a move (the vehicle had multiple existing dents and unrepaired scratches). Everything went smoothly during the move, no problems at all. Upon my return, the €1200 deposit was deducted because of "supposed" scratches we supposedly made during the rental. No photos prove it (the rental ended at 8 pm, so the return photos were inevitably taken in the dark…!!!). The first bill: €570 for supposed repairs (which they won't do… given the pre-existing condition of the van!). Then, a last-minute bonus: the bill was "adjusted"… to €620! Obviously, without any explanation to accompany this lovely, unjustified bill. My only advice: RUN AWAY!!! Don't fall for it! This is the first time I've written such a comment, and I sincerely hope it's the last 🙏

It's still a lottery when it comes to getting the deposit back; I didn't even receive a message confirming its return. Otherwise, everything went smoothly. Price correct

Poorly maintained trucks with opaque windshields that are impossible to clean. Very high additional costs. For me, that's it.

I booked a 17m² van with Citydrop on January 14th. Despite a confirmed reservation, I was unable to access the vehicle due to technical issues: I couldn't add my driver's license via the website or app, and I couldn't pay the deposit, which permanently blocked the rental. Since these problems were beyond my control, no service was provided. After contacting customer service, I received no refund, which is unacceptable given the lack of service. To date, this situation remains unresolved, leading me to consider legal action to obtain the refund I am owed. I absolutely do not recommend Citydrop.

City-Drop's team answers : Hello Mr. Frémont, We are sorry for the difficulties you reported experiencing with your January 14th reservation. However, when leaving a public review, the least you can do is be objective and accurately reflect the situation. After checking with our customer service department, it appears that our teams contacted you approximately two hours after the scheduled start of your rental, without having received any prior notification from you regarding the problems encountered on the app or website. Had we been informed beforehand, this type of issue could have been resolved very quickly by our teams. We gave you the necessary time so that you could still benefit from your vehicle, and it was ultimately our customer service department that canceled your reservation after the scheduled return date. We would like to remind you that hundreds of bookings are made on City-drop every day, and tens of thousands of customers use our app without encountering this type of problem. We understand your frustration, but remain convinced that a quicker response from our teams would have allowed us to find a solution immediately. The City-drop Team
